Dedicated to the beautiful youth of The Lotus Revolution, Songs to the Morning Horizon is a collection of love poems which heralds the rise of the New Dawn. It brings back Banned Light from Ancient Times. It was written beginning from year 2000. Mostly ready in winter, November 2010 (Thul Hejja 1431, Hathor 1727) some weeks before #jan25 Lotus Revolution, however, printing was delayed until the first weekend of Easter/Sham el Nessim, April 2011, this first breath of New Lotus Spring in Free Egypt.

This story is true. Like a drowning sailor in the lapis blue, I clung to a papyrus roll just like you. Saved and protected, and happily too, I saved these amazing stories which I document here for you.
I began writing these reports as a journalist in year zero of our time, when I found myself thrown deep in unknown waters, on a dangerous mission: My voyage out of the Empire of Darkness.
These are the records of my exit from the Black Swamp to reach these beautiful shores, to bloom my first bloom, by the banks of the Nile, in this New Light of Dawn.

The author, Sherif Mahmoud el-Hakim, is an Egyptian, born in Cairo, August 1943. He speaks English, French, and Arabic.
First edition, paper back 240 pages, two colour photos, and six pages of notes. Warning: a few poems (18) are in French, and published here without translation. All other poems were written in English. The French sub-title of the book: Jacasseries du Babouin could be translated as Chants of the Baboon.
